University Art Museum
Celebrate the 350th year anniversary of Albany’s growth from Dutch
fur-trading post to Capital City on the Hudson. Featuring paintings,
photographs and other archival materials, the exhibit brings to life
compelling narratives that make State Street one of American history’s
most significant and fascinating thoroughfares.

Boor Sculpture Studio Dedication
The University’s new state-of-the-art sculpture studio will be
dedicated at a gala open house and reception. Come tour this amazing
building, talk to the faculty and students who will be working there,
see works in progress and meet Terri Cosma Boor, the artist whose
generosity made this wonderful addition to our campus possible.

CESTM Tour
The Center for Environmental
Sciences and Technology Management is home to two of the University’s
internationally renowned research centers — The UAlbany Institute for
Materials (UAIM) and the Atmospheric Sciences Research Center; several
high technology incubator industries; and the Albany office of the
National Weather Service. In 2002, the University was selected as the
site for an international computer chip research and development center,
International SEMATECH North, which will be housed in an expansion to
the CESTM facility.

Life Sciences Research Virtual Tour

UAlbany has launched a $100
million research initiative to build excellence in the Life Sciences,
focusing on understanding the molecular basis of disease. The new $78
million, 198,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art research facility, due for
completion in 2004, will enable UAlbany to bring world-class research
teams to the Capital Region to undertake the collaborative research that
is needed to combat the major diseases of our time.
